I waited on God for my trial to end,
The length was difficult I cannot pretend,
I grew tired of waiting, trying not to contend,
I waited on God, my Father and Friend
"I'm waiting on you," He said unto me,
"To be all that you can possibly be;
Your waiting enlightens you to be able to see,
I'm waiting on you as you wait on Me."
I'm waiting on you Lord, to set me free
From frustrating circumstances I want to flee.
Take this trial Lord, it seems so long," I plea,
I'm waiting on You, I'm waiting to see."
"There's future in failure and brokenness I've shown
The silence doesn't mean that you are ever alone,
I'm drawn to your anguish, you're drawn to My throne
I'm waiting on you, My child, My own."
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Whose Report Will You Believe?
When they told us mom wasn’t going to make it, I didn’t realize it at the time that this report, that I received, was from man; God had other plans.
Yes, our family was called several times to let us know mom was in her last hours, only to see God move upon my mother and she recovered once again. I loved keeping her as long as I could, however, the turmoil of being told over and over again that my mom was on her death bed, well, that just tore me up inside. I was an emotional wreck. So I questioned the Lord, “Why? Why would you put us through this; isn't once enough?" And through an understanding, Jesus said “It isn’t her time until I say it is her time.”
I understood what God was saying, but He didn't stop there, Jesus went on to say, "Your loved one isn't spiritually dead until I say they are spiritually dead."
The Lord really got me there. I was in a perplexing situation as someone close to me was not attending church nor desired anything of God. They once loved the Lord, but now, they act as if they never knew Him. I questioned within myself if my prayers were in naught. Did my prayers even matter? They live on, without wanting Jesus, and I wondered if there was any life left in that body, that soul.
"Your loved one isn't spiritually dead until I say they are spiritually dead."
It is a comfort to know that Jesus is always there, watching over us like a Father would. Taking care of us even though we may turn our backs on Him. Putting our name in other peoples minds and thoughts to help us out of our diseased minds and back into a healthy state.
So, you don’t know where your next dollar is coming from, economy says you won’t be back to work for some time now, what does God say? So, you aren’t feeling well and the doctors give you their full analysis which isn’t favorable, what does God say? So you are down and troubled, the enemy has been attacking you, telling you that you are a loser, what does God say? Everywhere you look in this world you don't see hope. What Does Jesus Say?
Your situation may seem bleak and you have no idea where to turn. WAIT! God has a plan. Do as the Lord directs you to do and rest assured that God will do as He says.
"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
~ Matthew 6:31-34
Whose report will you believe? I hope you believe the report of the Lord.
tried and true
Yesterday I was cleaning my new van. Well, new to me. I bought it, used, from a hunter/fisherman who was obviously dedicated to both events. I can imagine his buddies going with him on these outings because of the mud that was caked on the carpet. I knew this when I bought it, however, I didn’t realize the job this little mess entailed.
I used a carpet shampooer over it several times then I realized that I would need something more substantial. So I got a big bucket of hot soapy water and commenced to scrubbing by hand until the heavy load of it was mostly gone. . . So I thought.
Then I went through with my shampooer and worked the details out. What I thought would be a two hour job ended up to be a six hour job and I was thoroughly exhausted when I finished.
Towards the end of my endeavor I was thinking to the Lord; Lord, I don’t have the stamina to get all of the dirt out. It looks clean and yet when I pass by with the scrubber I see a fresh batch of dirt coming up. I realize the dirt is deep down inside the carpet and would take a series of treatments taking months of work before it is all gone.
Then that still small voice spoke and said; "Like the dirt in the carpet so is the dirt in your life. You weren't perfect when you were baptized nor when you received the Holy Ghost. But through a series of trials you lose some of those imperfections that might hinder your relationship with Me, one at a time. It takes time to obtain."
Then I began thinking about the gold, when it is tried in the fire, the imperfections come to the top to be skimmed off. Eventually, the gold becomes more purer than before.
“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” ~ Job 23:10
Interesting how Jesus can turn a tedious chore into a meaningful analogy.
Thank You Jesus!
Silence in Turmoil
The hardest thing to do in a troublesome situation is be silent. You would want to scream, talk to someone to vent, or to fight back. Turmoil seems to want to arm wrestle you to the point you are too exhausted to fight back anymore. It pushes you in directions, you wouldn't normally go. Sometimes we make wrong decisions through this trouble, and sometimes we create more of a dramatic event than what it could have been. It is okay. But, sometimes we just need to allow turmoil to faze right through us. Do we actually have to fight it. Can't we wait it out, see where it takes us?
Because if anyone knows anything about tests, trials and turmoil (the three terrible "t" s), I do. I know, I want to yell and scream, and then other times I want to just cry, sit and rock myself, even cry myself to sleep. Then there are times like these when I just said nothing. Just said nothing, just do nothing.
Contrary to what the World thinks, God has a plan and we need to allow that plan to take effect in our lives. Heartache and all. Why say anything? Why fight? There isn't anything you can do to change the plan of God, you needn't try. We need to trust God's way is right regardless if we "feel" like it is or not. Pray and ask of God what you need to do. Jesus is always ready to lead and guide you; in everything. Just make sure you are pliable to the will of God and watching for that path to walk down.
Keep still and see God's plan. Hush. Don't speak. Don't throw your trial away by speaking. Shhh. Wait. Silence.
"Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.
Is any merry? let him sing psalms."
~ James 5:13
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
~ Isaiah 40:31
You Want a Fight?
Okay, Satan. You sucker punched me. You expected me to retaliate, you expected me to say something, you expected me to react. Well I didn't and I won't. You hit me when I wasn't looking and I went down. I'll give you that. I will give you even the points for that. Bully, Bully for you. But look out. I didn't stay down, in fact I got up and I am ready now. You went too far! I am not going to take it anymore.
I am praying!
Yes! That is right! I am praying for them. For they are my brothers and sisters and I will refuse to do anything to them, except pray. The Lord will smooth things over and you, my dear enemy, will have to go to hell without them. For they will not find offence in me. The offence will not come and they will not leave.
Got tripped up again didn't you! HA! Did you honestly think I would fold up and take it? Have I ever before? We have fought for years, don't you know me by now? The more you push, the even more I fall into my Creator's arms. I trust the Lord with all of my heart and your tricks are not going to work on me.
These random acts of utterly meanness just changes me from "easy going" to" fired up". I will do all I can to mess up your plans! I will teach more Bible Studies! I will Witness more! PRAY more!
Bring it on Satan and I will pour out my heart on each and every individual you put up against me. And you know as well as I do what will happen! Oh yes! They will change for the Lord. They usually do.
I am determined to follow Jesus! I am souled out! My mind is made up! I am not going back! I am not going to fall down and die! I am NOT going to allow you the satisfaction of victory in my life! Jesus REIGNS! Jesus ALWAYS REIGNED and He will Reign FOREVER! JESUS has the Victory! Satan, You know who wins! That is why you are a punk in the plan of God. You lost out and you want others to lose out too.
Well, bad luck on you. You need to just straighten yourself out and repent that you did God wrong! Repent and leave us alone!
"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death." ~ Revelation 12:10-11
ONE BAD DAY
You'd think I would just throw in the towel. Just give up and run away. That is what my flesh wanted to do. But my Spirit that has rule over me told me, "No. No yelling, No anger. No. Bad things happen."
That is just it. Bad things happen. Sometimes all in one day. And when that does. Your best friend will be no where around you. Your family won't understand. You will think of yourself all alone.
Jesus is there though. You cannot shake Him. You may not feel Him there, but He is. Helping you, guiding you. Carrying you.
Your worst day walking with Jesus is still a whole lot better than your best day without Him.
Regardless, He is there for you. Regardless, you can make it. Joy comes in the morning. Not at night. Not after you have been thinking about it all day long wondering where you went wrong. Or perhaps where you could have improved, or restrained yourself.
Think about it. Paul and Silas was having a bad day. Life seemed to be ending for them. They were beaten and thrown in prison. When they were going through a bad day, it took their breath away. They were probably mesmerized by the onslaught of pain and suffering.
When they were in the midst of this trial - it probably took all that they had just to hold on. It doesn't say, in the Word of God, they praised the Lord during this time. However, just about Midnight, they started coming to their senses. They realized why they were treated in such a way. Knowingly they began to speak out praises to the Lord. The chose to sing praises and rejoice in that the Lord, Jesus Christ had chose them for this moment.
So keep in mind that in the midst of a bad day, just hold on to what you know to be true and trust God to the very end.
Leave it. Leave it in Jesus' hands. He wants you to. When my heart is overwhelmed Lord, lead me to that Rock that's higher than I. For thou has been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
It's late. I'm tired. I'm done. God, it's all yours. I trust You.
"Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in they tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of they wings. Selah. For thou, O God, has heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name." ~Psalm 61:1-5
The Storm was NOT Designed to Destroy
A single speck of dust is all that is needed for a rain drop. That speck rises to the cloud which it collects the moisture so it can come back down to earth. That process can be accomplished in as few as 10 hours. All depending on humidity and wind.
You long for reprieve. No end in sight. You still fight the obstacles on a daily basis. You pause to pray. You wait in His presence. Confused. Alone. You wait. God knows you are waiting. He knows what you are going through.
He sees the children who need to be saved. Lost spouse. Lost job. He sees the frustrations in the dream unfulfilled. He understands the discouraged ambition. The finances are a mess, the best friend turned out to be your number one enemy. The stress. The responsibility. The hurts, the pain, the frustration. Dysfunctional family. God sees it all.
But you are not seeing God at this moment. You look to where you thought He would be, but Jesus isn't there. "Jesus, where are you?", you question. But still, no answer. You look, you strain to see that one drop. That one drop of rain before the down pour. Where are you?
Where is that drop. Where is the minuscule amount of hope you need to get you going further down the road. Where is if? Did it dry up before it reached you? Did someone snatch that last drop of hope from your faith? Or is it in the atmosphere in the form of a speck of dust awaiting God's command.
"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented." ~ Luke 16:19-25
Lord, I am struggling here on Earth. I need thy Spirit to quench this dry and thirsty soul. Regardless of my circumstances, I need thy Spirit. I know I need to go through this tremendous trial, I need just one drop of your Spirit to give me some reprieve.
Where is the rain Lord? Where is that promised rain? I need Your RAIN!
"And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not."
~ 1 Kings 18:43-44
What happened here? There was a sincere prayer for rain. And at first there was nothing. Nothing was happening. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Nothing. Prayer. Something.
A drop. One drop. If Elijah stayed where he was praying, he would have came down from that mountain in a torrential flood. If Elijah decided to hang out on that mountain and he would have looked up, he would have seen that first drop of rain.
You see, if you want to see the rain, you must pray for it. Pray and talk to Jesus about your problems. Pray and allow that refreshing rain pour over you again. Pray. Pray. Pray. Prayer is what keeps you through your trials. Prayer helps you gain a stronger relationship with Jesus. Prayer is the growth factor. Prayer is the key to Christian Survival. Prayer is a Heavenly communication. Prayer is that private meeting with Jesus. Prayer is the holy order of Life. Pray: New hope, new faith, new perspectives. Prayer is just talking to Jesus.
Bottom line, if you don't have the time to pray now, you won't get the time to pray in Heaven; you won't be there.
Prayer is humidity coupled with wind. God's blessings are the dust. Pray up a storm!
Is that thunder I hear?
Rain is coming!
"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength
of my heart, and my portion for ever." ~ Psalm 73:26
My trial is intense, the pain is real. At times I feel as if my heart couldn’t take one more ounce of sorrow or it would surely fall into a million pieces. The old flesh doesn’t want to deal with that kind of pressure. My flesh wants to flee immediately in the other direction. The flesh just wants to avoid any pain at all cost.
Whether I agree with God about this trial or not, I will follow God’s direction regardless. Regardless of how I feel, regardless of how life is treating me, regardless of what is happening.
This trial is relentless; still, God is strengthening me, through His Word, through His Spirit, and through His Love. My spirit is soaring in new heights and new directions. My spirit loves the VIP treatment with God. My spirit is basking in the closeness of the supernatural relationship with Jesus.
Yes, my trial is painful. Yes, life is tough. Would I change anything?
No. Why? For God is my portion forever!

I Shall Arise!
One day while in prayer I was gazing outside the window from in the sanctuary. I was having a peaceful conversation; just the Lord and I. Then all of a sudden a bird hit a window in the sanctuary and, judging by the loud thud it made ,I knew he had to have been hurt badly.
I have heard that birds have done that, as they fly, not realizing that there is a pane of glass that separates them from where they intended to go. And flying through the air with the greatest of ease, then, without notice, stopped by some unforeseen obstacle. SMACK; head hitting full force and then down for the count.
I thought to myself, “Stupid bird.” I chuckled as I made my way to the window to take a look at the damage. I expected to see the maimed bird I was curious as to what he looked like knocked out. When I glanced out the window I was awestruck when I saw the bird wasn't there. I pondered the situation. Then I came to the realization that the bird was not as stupid as I thought, but very wise. Instead of lying there for a predator to come upon him and eat him for dinner, he shook himself and flew off. He didn’t stay in self-pity and lick his wounds; he knew he must get back up before the deep pain set in, before the wounds hindered him.
“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.” ~ Micah 7:8
We can also be like that! To keep on going no matter what happens in life, no matter what obstacle gets into our way, we can fly around it with the grace of God. We can read the Bible and gain wisdom, we can pray and gain courage, we can fellowship with others and gain strength, we can fast and gain endurance.
The moral of this story is to be as wise as an owl and not to be an old bird brain!

10 Ways to Fight Back- Christian Style
We all experience it. We have been offended at one time or another. We have been pushed around. We have had someone do or say something that hurt to our core. And when this happened, we stand dumbfounded at the total disregard for humanity. Then we say to ourselves, “Why me?”
It can tear you up. The hurt, offence, pain, anger; it seeks to destroy us. The adversary is looking for to steal, kill and destroy.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” ~ John 10:10
God wants us to grow from these offenses. Take the time for someone else, learn and respond in the correct way. Now, keep in mind, you should get to the point where it is comfortable to do all of these steps, however, I you must realize, that being human, you should focus on baby steps.
So when an encounter happens let’s look at the top ten ways to fight back (Christian Style):
10.) After some time has passed, then do something nice for them. Mostly before they ask for help. On top of doing something nice for them, do something nice for other people as well. Folks that usually don’t have anyone to be nice to them.
“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.” ~ Romans 12:17
9.) Apologize to them. You may not be in the wrong, but an apology may mend that broken area and most likely they will apologize back.
“ Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” ~ Matthew 5:23-24
8.) Quote scripture. Either verbally or in your mind.
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” ~ Proverbs 30:5
7.) Fast. When you get your body into subjection, it is easier to deal with conflict.
“ Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord? Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” ~ Isaiah 58:5-6
6.) Pray your attitude stays good.
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” ~ Matthew 26:41
5.) Have Compassion on those who hurt you: Hurt people hurt people. Understand the conflict for what it is. And approach it appropriately. Ask, “Did I do something to offend you? Then why are you treating me this way?” Usually this will dispel the conflict immediately. Because most of the time people really don’t realize they are being hurtful.
“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:” ~ 1 Peter 3:8
4.) Praise God! “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;” ~James 1:2 Worship God Always! Praise God! Anytime you give God time, He will in turn heal you.
3.) Forgive them.
“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:” ~ Luke 6:37
“Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.” ~ Luke 17:3-4
2.) Do nothing. Let God have it.
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
~ Romans 12:19-21
And the number 1 way to fight back: Pray for them. It'll help you both.
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” ~ Matthew 5:44
